Lost Moguls: Have You Seen Them? Reward Offered.

It's tragic when a dog runs away. It's even worse when a media mogul runs away. Back on December 7th, someone left the door open, and the moguls all dashed out of negotiations into the street and haven't been seen since.

Our friend "Rubber Poultry" designed a series of Missing Mogul posters to help us track them down. And a reward is offered! If anyone can lure these moguls back to the table, he or she will receive the respect and gratitude of the entire entertainment industry.

Our first poster features an old but loveable mutt, "Sumner."

This is quite funny - good going, rubberpoultry, very well done & pleasing. Looking forward to seeing one with the Prom King, as well.

BTW, this is such a side rant, but there's no post to comment on yet - some interesting WGA news appears to be breaking, regarding the CBS newswriters negotiations: http://www.latimes.com/business/printedition/la-fi-cbs10jan10,0,3834668.story?coll=la-headlines-pe-business, http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117978739.html?categoryid=1066&cs=1 and about a possible side deal negotiation with the Weinsteins: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/news/e3iad2416a32027548688b1604bcc7ed33c

I do hope the Missing Moguls pick up a paper while having their Carefree Getaway.

I continue to be heartened by the strike news, more each day. Keep heartened, writers, it is working.

Will the WGA be picketing this event:

Gala Evening
In Honor of Sumner Redstone
Hosted by Jon Stewart
Thursday, February 7, 2008

The Paley Center for Media will honor Sumner Redstone, executive chairman of Viacom Inc. and CBS Corporation, at its annual gala in New York.

The gala will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008, at 6:30 pm, at the Waldorf-Astoria Grand Ballroom in New York City. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Paley Center's work to lead the discussion about the creative and social relevance of television, radio, and emerging platforms in today's world.

Some individual tickets, priced at $2,000, are available.

Tables and ads for the Tribute Journal are also available. Please contact the Paley Center's Special Events Department at 212.621.6815 or specialevents@paleycenter.org for more information.

I'd think they can't be too happy with Jon Stewart for being involved in it......

I'm totally in support of the WGA, but there's only so much name calling and making fun of people you can do before you start to lose respect and credibility. Its a fine line to walk...
