MLK March in Georgia Will Include WGA

This letter is from Phil Nutman & Jason Dolan. -JA

Dear fellow WGA members and supporters:

Further to previous discussions, we can now confirm that the Writers Guild of America members in Georgia have been formally invited to participate in next Monday's Martin Luther King Day parade and rally.

As this is the 40th anniversary of the King Day Parade, the Writers Guild of America is proud and honored to be invited to be a part of this historic event which celebrates not only the civil rights movement but also the bond between workers and is a statement about the need for solidarity on all levels of society.

WHEN: Monday January 21.

WHERE: Atlanta, GA -- march participants need to meet with WGA co-captains Phil Nutman & Jason Dolan at the corner of Peachtree Street and Baker Street no later than 12:30 PM (please try to arrive around 12:15 PM-ish)

-- The march officially kicks off at 1PM. Due to the large number of groups participating in this year's event, arriving on time is crucial.

HOW: there is no free parking in midtown/downtown Atlanta. March participants are advised to take MARTA to Peachtree Center station and walk north a block to the rendezvous point.

-- If driving, please try to car-pool. There are numerous parking lots in the area.

Please RSVP to WGAinGA@gmail.com ASAP as the MLK rally organizers have requested we give them some idea of the size of our group.

And please encourage colleagues, family, friends to join in the celebrations and line the march route along historic Auburn Ave and downtown (feel free to forward this e-mail to anyone you know who would be interested.)

We look forward to being with you on January 21!

With thanks, respect -- and in solidarity,
Phil Nutman & Jason Dolan

As a former Atlantan, I know the King Day Parade is a big deal there. I am very proud that the WGA will be part of this 40th anniversary event.

Way to go, Phil and Jason!
