United Hollywod's First Annual Short Film Contest

United Hollywood is proud to announce that FairDeal4Writers has become the first annual United Hollywood Short Film Contest.

Unlike Strike TV, films in this contest will tackle the issues that are roiling the entertainment industry right now. The winner of the contest will receive an authentic WGA strike poster with over 175 signatures by writers, actors, actresses and directors who autographed it while on the picket line and a copy of FINAL DRAFT.

Submitted films will be judged by Paul Haggis, Marti Noxon and Callie Khouri.

For more information on how to enter the contest go to ww.FairDeal4Writers.com. The contest ends February 20th, the winner will be announced on the 28th.

Great to see the deadline extended, and to hear that this will be an annual event. Been following it since it was first mentioned on NowLive! back before the holidays, but wasn't sure there was enough time to put together a quality film... but the new deadline removes that doubt. Now it's just a matter of effort and motivation.

This looks to be a great vehicle for young filmmakers to introduce themselves to the entertainment world, whatever form that world may take in the future.

Kudos to United Hollywood, FairDeal4Writers.com, the judges and the contest organizers for putting this together. Definitely looking forward to seeing all of the final entries.

Also, glad to see the UnitedHollywood blog back in business. Keep up the good work!

I'm trying to put together an entry for this in my spare time. Wish me luck! That strike sign would make for some good writing inspiration when it counts...
