StrikeSwag: Back in Black

StrikeSwag.com - the non-profit site which donates all profits to the Writers Guild Foundation Industry Support Fund to assist non-WGA members of the industry who are in financial distress as a direct result of the strike - is out with its January 2008 line which Fashion Week boldly called "the black and white shield tee." This 100% cotton shirt a variant of the official WGA West strike shirt.

And thanks to everyone who has purchased an item in the past. Due to your support of the WGA and the people we work with, on December 28, Strike Swag made its first donation to the Support Fund for $20,000.

Not bad. How about an East Coast version? (Not trying to restart the gangsta rap feuds of the '90s - just think you oughtta let people "rep" the East Coast too.)

BTW, how about Stephen Colbert's offer to help mediate between the AMPTP and WGA? I think you should take him up on it. He *is* the greatest living American, after all.

This might be a lame idea, but how about some generic pro-writer swag as well, that's not so clearly tied to the strike? Might appeal to a greater number of people, including fans.

Thanks for this. I just went over to the site and ordered myself one. I haven't been able to do much to help the striking writers, as I'm a poor college student who has his own writing issues, but this tee was irresistible.

Viva writers!
