The Strike Show: An All-Star Comedy Salute to Benefit Members of the Hollywood Community in Need

In an effort to support the WGA strike and creatively express themselves for a good cause, actors Nick Kroll (Cavemen, Best Week Ever) and Kat Foster (‘Til Death) are producing The Strike Show, a live comedy-variety show at the Steve Allen Theater in Los Angeles on Wednesday and Friday, December 12 & 14 at 10PM. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Admission is free for all WGA members with a suggested donation (WGA Membership card required). All proceeds will benefit members of the industry who are affected by the strike via the Motion Picture and Television Fund, which provides financial assistance to industry members during these challenging times. Tickets will be available at steveallentheater.com or by calling 800-595-4849 (4TIX).

<>Alongside an ensemble cast of TVs finest actors and writers, The Strike Show will incorporate original material by nightly special guest writers, who will compose original sketches (some related to the WGA strike) that will, in the words of the producers, “blow your f***ing mind.” <>

Scheduled to appear are: Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy), Ed Helms (The Office), Emily Deschanel (Bones), Glenn Howerton (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty), The Sklar Brothers (Wild Hogs), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (The Class), Jerry Minor (Carpoolers), Jessica St. Clair (Best Week Ever), Jamie Denbo (Reno! 911), David Hornsby (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) among many other surprise guests.

Pootietwo -- Indeed, why don't you? No one's required to go to the show. What on earth does "Who is expected to attend this show" mean? Who is expected to attend *any* comedy show? "Let's give a show! Maybe only auto workers will show up... or maybe only dressmakers..."

Boy, you had to work really hard to try to find a way to dump crap on a nice thing. But, hey, you're right. Let's call it off! It's an INSULT, that's what it is. Damn those people donating their time and effort!

Thank god you know better. Since it's such a waste of time, I'm sure those families who would have benefited from the proceeds would like to call you and thank you.

"It's only a question. Meant to cast doubt on everything you do. Gosh, why jump all over me?"

I'm not a WGA writer. I will be a visiting tourist and will be attending this show. So ya see pootietwo, the general public is coming to the show.

And if I'm the only member of the general public amoung a house full of WGA writers, then I will consider myself oh so very fortunate. I will also glady, warmly and passionately donate *your* ticket price at the door.

I have a blog on Blogger,(Praynhippie--just hit my name on this post), Devoted to asking people to find a way to donate toys, tween, and teen gifts by bringing an unwrapped gift to these charity events, BUT, the toys should be "aimed directly at people who clean, lift, who are industry, but not writers". The fire fighter toy drive is respected by me, but is not "aimed directly" at indusrty kids. Fires were tough on toys! Please Somebody make this charity event a toy drive for kids and teens! I will update you on any thing I try . My email is praynhippie@yahoo.com
