Day 4: The Madison Gate at Sony

We continued to build our "community" of support.

Sibyl from Yahoo-creative stopped by with two boxes of pastries, orange juice, and a bottle of vitamin C.

Three Sony employees gave up their lunch breaks to walk the picket line. People driving by honk their horns and yell support.

Even the animals are on our side. It's all good.

You know, I support the strike and all, but if it were up to me tv would consist of nothing but pictures and videos of dogs on strike. I could watch that shit forever.

If it helps, a freelance graphic designer in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada gives full support to the writers out there. If it wasn't for writers, I wouldn't have any text to design with.

How about someone creating some red WGA Strike (supporter) shirts for ordering online? Proceeds could go to web and other support efforts, snacks, or...? Imagine local media around the States/world picking up images of the average consumers. Groups outside the morning shows in NYC. Individuals sending their pics into sites/FB/MySpace/Flickr/etc.

i agree with adam!

as a creative writing major at Columbia College Chicago I know countless other students and I would love to help spread the word any way we can, and show our support!

You guys are fighting for our future! Let us help you too!

I third the suggestion for shirts. I'm close to making my own too. I feel helpless in the Midwest. I wish I could help on the picket line!

With the substance and quality of most of what comes from this country’s entertainment industry on a daily basis, I for one hope that the writers strike remains permanent.

Have a nice day Hollywood.

That sounds like a plan! Maybe if the fatcats notice people worldwide are supporting this cause, they'll actually get off of their asses and DO something about it.

I fourth the tee shirt idea... if you actually make them in dog sizes, they'll be all over NYC...

Comic relief aside, the site's been great... The issues have been broken down for all to understand, and it's really heartening to see the showrunners and actors who are supporting the writers...

I know there's a tremendous amount on the line for all of you WGA folks... for the future of many more writers to come. May your pens be mightier than whatever the companies and studios are wielding...

If folks want to get UNION MADE red t-shirts (though without the snazzy WGA logo, which I assume one couldn't reprint without permission) they can do so through Justice Clothing (http://justiceclothing.com).

I mean, it'd be pretty ironic if in an attempt to support one group of union workers, we undercut others.

Yeah, I was actually thinking about that at work today. I'll get one of those shirts though. You have a Canadian on your side!
