NEGOTIATIONS CONTINUE TODAY:
The following statement was issued by the WGA Negotiating Committee at the end of the day yesterday:
“Today's negotiations began at 10:00 AM. No significant progress was made. At 4:30 PM, we informed the AMPTP that we would prepare a comprehensive package proposal for their review today. At 6:45 PM, we told them the proposal would be ready in 15 minutes. Management negotiators responded by saying they preferred to leave for the day and hear our proposal tomorrow, the expiration date of our contract.”
SUCCESFUL LEAFLET:
We distributed 12,000 leaflets at eight studios to lot employees including cast, crew, and executives.
CONTINUED OUTREACH TO OUR TEAMSTER FRIENDS:
Contract Captain Tim Day, who also works below the line, suggests that we make a special effort to stop by and say “hello” to our Transpo staff and thank them for their support. They gesture to support us however they can is huge! Let’s reach out and tell them person-to-person how much we appreciate it. Union solidarity like this could mean, if there is a strike, it will be much shorter.
TALKING TO THE PRESS:
If you get a call from the press (print, TV, radio, or online), and want to access facts or information before responding, you can call or email Gregg Mitchell in the WGAW Communications Department at (323) 782-4651 or gmitchell@wga.org
